Au Gratin Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium size potatoes, prebaked and cooled
    1 pkg. (16 slices) American cheese
    1 small onion
    3 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 3/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Melt butter in large saucepan.
    Add flour, stirring until smooth.
    Add salt, milk and finely grated onion.
    Over medium to low heat, stir often.
    Dice cheese and add to milk.
    Dice potatoes in covered baking dish, salt and pepper to taste.
    Pour melted cheese over potatoes to cover them.
    If thick, add a little milk. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes, covered, last 15 minutes, uncover or until top starts to brown.
