Grandma'S Old Fashioned Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 small bottle cinnamon oil
    2 whole eggs
    2 egg yolks (save whites)
    1 1/2 oz. ground ginger
    1/4 c. cooking oil
    1/2 c. milk
    4 c. self-rising flour
    1 c. self-rising flour
    2 egg whites
    1 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Mix sugar and shortening well.
    Add ginger, cinnamon oil, eggs and cooking oil.
    Mix until all lumps are gone.
    Add milk slowly; add flour, mixing with hands or dough hooks.
    Place the cup of flour in a large bowl and lightly knead dough therein.
    Pat dough into cakes 3 to 4 inches long, or roll thin and cut into gingerbread men.
    Bake on greased cookie sheet at 450\u00b0 for about 8 minutes until lightly browned.
    Beat egg whites with sugar and brush tops and bottoms before they cool.
    Serve hot with a cold glass of milk.
