Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter or oleo
2 Tbsp. flour
1/4 c. beet liquid from can
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
few grains pepper
1/8 tsp. cloves
1 (No. 2) can sliced beets (2 1/2 c.)
Preparation

Melt the butter or oleo; add flour and blend.
Add beet liquid; cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
Add brown sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper and cloves; stir until sugar dissolves. Drain beets.
Add.
Heat thoroughly.
Makes 6 servings.
