Indian Pilau - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tsp. minced ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1/4 tsp. ground coriander
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
1 c. uncooked long grain rice
1 (13 3/4 oz.) can chicken broth
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
1/4 c. frozen green peas
1/4 c. raisins
1/4 c. cashews, chopped
Preparation

In a medium saucepan, melt butter or margarine over medium heat. Add onion, ginger, cumin, coriander, cinnamon and red pepper flakes. Cook, stirring 3 minutes.
