Twinkle, Christmas Stars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (15 oz.) pkg. Duncan Hines golden sugar cookie mix
    1 egg
    1 tsp. grated lemon peel
    1 egg, lightly beaten
    colored sugar, currants, sprinkles (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0. Empty both mix pouches into bowl.
    Add egg and lemon peel.
    Mix well. Divide dough in half.
    Roll out 1/2 about 1/8-inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut with cookie cutters that have been dipped in flour.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet 2-inches apart.
    Brush lightly with beaten egg. Decorate with colored sugar, currants or sprinkles or bake plain (no egg wash) to frost later. Repeat with remaining dough.
    Bake 6 to 7 minutes.
    Cool 1 minute. Remove from cookie sheet with spatula. Makes 36 cookies.
