Danish Apple Slices - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. sugar, plus 1 Tbsp.
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 egg, separated
milk
2/3 c. crushed cornflakes or Rice Krispies
5 c. sliced and peeled Michigan apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. confectioners sugar
2 Tbsp. lemon juice or water
Preparation

Sift flour, 1 tablespoon sugar and salt.
Cut shortening in with pastry blender.
Put egg yolk into measuring cup and add enough milk to make 2/3 cup.
Add to shortening mixture and mix just enough that dough shapes into a ball.
Roll out half of dough into 15 x 11-inch rectangle; transfer to baking sheet.
