Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 c. cornmeal
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. milk
    1 egg, beaten
    4 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Sift together first 5 ingredients.
    Add milk and egg; beat for 1 minute.
    Add shortening and beat 1 minute longer.
    Bake in well-greased pan at 425\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
