Pineapple Sponge Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3 eggs, separated
    1 c. milk
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
    3/4 c. drained pineapple
    pastry for 1 (9-inch) crust
Preparation
    Cream butter and add beaten egg yolks.
    Combine flour, sugar and salt.
    Add dry ingredients to egg/sugar mixture.
    Add pineapple and milk and blend thoroughly.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour mixture in an unbaked crust and bake at 425\u00b0 for 8 minutes, then reduce temperature to 325\u00b0 and continue to bake 30 to 35 minutes longer.
    Makes 1 (9-inch) pie.
