French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large onions
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    croutons or dried bread or crackers
    1 c. grated Parmesan and Gruyere cheese
    6 beef bouillon cubes
Preparation
    Slice onions.
    Brown in butter.
    Add bouillon cubes.
    Fill 4-quart pan 3/4 full of water.
    Bring all of these to a boil, then simmer at least 1/2 an hour.
