Butter Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. water
    1 1/4 c. butter
    3 c. chopped almonds
    1 c. finely chopped walnuts
    1/4 lb. milk chocolate, melted
Preparation
    Bring sugar, salt, water and butter to boiling; add almonds. Cook, stirring constantly, to light crack stage (285\u00b0).
    Pour onto a greased cookie sheet or jelly roll pan.
    When cool, brush with chocolate and sprinkle with walnut meats.
    Break into pieces. Makes about 2 dozen pieces.
