Canadian Cheese Soup(Servings: 8) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. onion, diced
    1/2 c. carrots, diced
    1/2 c. celery, diced
    1/4 c. flour
    1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    4 c. chicken broth
    4 c. milk
    1/8 tsp. soda
    1 c. American cheese, grated
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Melt butter in large pot; add vegetables and cook over low heat until soft.
    Add flour and cornstarch; cook until it bubbles. Stir in broth and milk (stir until smooth).
    Add soda and cheese. Heat until cheese melts.
    Pepper to taste.
    Each serving:
    245 calories, 13 grams protein, 16 grams fat.
