Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped clams
    4 medium potatoes, cooked, peeled and diced
    6 slices chopped onion
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 lb. bacon
    1 c. half and half
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 qt. milk
    salt
    pepper
    thyme
Preparation
    Have potatoes cooled and put aside.
    Saute bacon until crisp; set aside.
    Add onion to pan and saute until soft, not brown. Stir in flour into pan and blend well.
    Stir in clams and the liquid.
    Heat mixture, then put into a large pot.
    Stir in potatoes.
    Stir constantly.
    Bring to a boil.
    Add in bacon bits. Reduce heat to low.
