Caramel Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix brown sugar and milk.
    Stir until the sugar is dissolved, then boil without stirring to the soft-ball stage (238\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
    Add butter.
    Remove the icing until it is thick and creamy.
    If the icing becomes too thick, thin it with a little cream.
    Makes enough to frost 2 (9-inch) layers.
