Oven Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. beef, cut in 1 1/2-inch cubes
1 medium onion, chopped
3 stalks celery, sliced small
4 medium carrots, cut in crosswise 1-inch lengths
1 c. tomato juice
1/3 c. quick tapioca
1 Tbsp. sugar
4 beef bouillon cubes
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. basil
2 medium potatoes, cut in 1/4-inch slices
Preparation

Combine all ingredients except potatoes in a 2 1/2-quart casserole or larger.
Bake in a 325\u00b0 oven for 3 1/2 hours, stirring often during baking.
If stew gets too thick, stir in more tomato juice or water and cover pot again.
Mix potatoes in the last hour and cook with lid on until done.
