Old-Time Cinnamon Jumbles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. soft shortening (part butter)
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 c. buttermilk (sour cream)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. sifted Gold Medal flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients thoroughly.
    Stir in buttermilk and vanilla.
    Sift last 3 ingredients together and stir in.
    Chill dough.
    Drop rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
    Sprinkle with mixture of sugar and cinnamon (1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon).
    Bake until set but not brown.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 (moderately hot oven) for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen 2-inch cookies.
