Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. milk, scalded
    4 large eggs
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    cinnamon or nutmeg (if desired)
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. raisins (optional)
    4 slices 2 day-old bread, broken into pieces
Preparation
    Soak raisins in cup of hot water.
    Heat milk.
    When tiny bubbles appear, place bread crumbs into milk.
    Break eggs into blender.
    Add sugar, salt and vanilla; blend.
    When the bread has softened, drain raisins and add.
    Also add the egg mixture.
    Place in casserole.
    Place a glob of butter in center.
    Set casserole pan in baking pan filled with water.
    Fill to 1-inch from top of casserole dish.
    Bake, uncovered, at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
    Serve warm or cold.
