Apple Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg, separated
    milk
    2/3 c. crushed corn flakes
    5 c. sliced, peeled apples
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Sift together flour,
    1 tablespoon sugar and salt.
    Cut shortening in with pastry blender or two knives.
    Put egg yolk into measuring cup and
    add
    milk
    to
    make
    2/3
    cup.
    Add to shortening mixture.
    Mix
    just
    enough
    so dough shapes into a ball.
    Roll out half to 15 x 11-inch rectangle.
    Transfer to a baking sheet.
    Cover with cornflakes, then with apple slices.
