Holiday Macaroons - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/3 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 tsp. grated lemon rind
    2 2/3 c. flaked coconut
    24 candied cherry halves
Preparation
    Beat eggs in bowl until light; add sugar gradually, beating for 5 minutes or until thickened.
    Add sifted dry ingredients; mix well.
    Stir in butter, vanilla, lemon rind and coconut. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased and floured cookie sheet. Decorate with candied cherries.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 15 minutes. Cool completely.
    Store in tightly covered container.
    Yields 2 dozen.
