Plain Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. butter
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. self-rising flour
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening 10 minutes at high speed of mixer. Add eggs, one at a time.
    Sift flour; add salt.
    Add alternately with milk at a lower speed.
    Add butter and vanilla.
    Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.
    Bake for 30 minutes at 325\u00b0, then increase heat to 350\u00b0 and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
