Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. cocoa
2 oz. red food coloring
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 tsp. vinegar
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar and add eggs.
Make a paste of cocoa and food coloring and combine with vanilla, salt and buttermilk.
Add alternately with flour to sugar and shortening mixture.
Mix soda with vinegar and fold into batter.
Do not beat.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes in two 9-inch pans, well-greased and floured.
Stand full 10 minutes before turning out.
