English Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 slices sandwich bread
    1/2 Tbsp. butter, margarine or spread
    2 tsp. jam or jelly (optional)
Preparation
    Plug in toaster to most convenient electric outlet.
    Place bread slices into slots on top of toaster (one in each slot). Press down on handle in front of toaster.
    If handle returns to the up position immediately, along with bread, press down on handle again, only harder.
    Wait.
    When bread, now toasted, pops up from the slots, remove them.
    Use knife to apply other ingredients as desired.
