Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. pickling lime
    7 lb. cucumbers, sliced
    2 qt. apple cider vinegar
    5 lb. sugar
    1/2 box pickling spices
Preparation
    Put lime over cucumbers and cover with water (do not use an aluminum pan).
    Soak overnight.
    Next day, rinse and soak in clear water.
    Change water 4 times.
    Boil vinegar, sugar and spices (in cheesecloth or tea ball) until sugar is dissolved, then cut off. Drain cucumbers and add to vinegar mixture.
    Soak overnight.
    Next day, bring to a boil and pack in sterilized jars.
