Old Indian Corn Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. corn meal
    1/2 tsp. salt (to taste)
    oil
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg
    buttermilk
Preparation
    Mix corn meal, baking powder and salt; add enough buttermilk to mix well.
    Batter should be thick to drop on hot oiled skillet. Fry like pancakes.
    Brown on both sides.
    This goes well with any type of greens, such as mustard, turnip or spinach.
