Whole Grain Jam Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. uncooked oats
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    3/4 c. preserves
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except preserves in large mixing bowl. Beat at low speed on mixer until mixture is crumbly.
    Reserve 2 cups mixture.
    Press remaining onto bottom of greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
    Spread preserves evenly over base; sprinkle with reserved mixture.
    Bake in preheated 400\u00b0 oven 25 to 30 minutes or until golden.
    Cool; cut into squares.
