Special Green Bean Au Gratin - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 pkg. (9 oz.) frozen French-style green beans or 1 lb. fresh beans
4 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated (about 1 c.)
2 Tbsp. butter
1/4 c. minced onions
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
3/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 c. thick sour cream
Preparation

Cook beans in bacon drippings.
Meanwhile, melt butter in saucepan.
Add onions.
Cook until onions are transparent.
Remove from heat.
Mix flour, salt, pepper, mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
Blend into cheese mixture.
Heat until mixture bubbles. Remove from heat and gradually stir in sour cream.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, just until mixture thickens.
Cook an additional 2 or 3 minutes longer, stirring constantly.
Do not boil.
When beans are tender, draining if necessary, add to sauce. Toss beans gently until well coated with sauce.
