Asparagus Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

20 oz. can Green Giant green asparagus
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 1/2 c. fine cracker crumbs (saltines or Ritz)
1/2 c. lightly toasted almonds (optional)
3 Tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. milk
1 (5 oz.) jar Old English spread
1 tsp. salt
dash of red pepper
Preparation

Melt one stick of butter and add all crumbs.
Mix.
Line casserole dish with 1 cup of mixture.
Drain asparagus and place on crumb mixture.
Sprinkle almonds on asparagus.
Melt 1/2 stick of butter.
Add flour to butter.
Stir over low heat until bubbly. Add milk and cook until slightly thickened.
Add cheese to cooked mixture.
Add salt and pepper.
Stir until cheese is melted.
Pour over asparagus.
Add remaining crumbs.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
