Garlan'S Original Strawberry Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box Butter Batter yellow cake mix
    2 pt. fresh strawberries
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 large carton Cool Whip
Preparation
    Follow directions on box of cake mix; bake two 9-inch round layers.
    When completely cool, split layers with thread, making 4 layers.
    Wash strawberries; save 7 or 8 pretty berries for top. Slice berries, add sugar, mix and set aside.
    Bake cake, cool and split layers.
    Add Cool Whip to berry mixture and blend well. Spread between layers and on top.
    Garnish top with remaining berries.
