Cranberry Surprise Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cranberries
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 pkg. Knox gelatine
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. hot water
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice plus 1 tsp. lemon rind, grated
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    8 1/2 oz. can pineapple or 1 orange or 1 apple, diced and peeled
    1/4 c. walnuts, chopped
Preparation
    Chop cranberries;
    add\tsugar and let stand 10 minutes. Mix gelatine with
    sugar
    and
    salt;
    add
    to
    hot water until dissolved.\tAdd lemon juice, rind and mayo to gelatine mixture and blend with beater.\tQuick chill this mixture in refrigerator tray, 15 minutes or until firm, 1 inch from edge, but soft in center. Then
    beat\tuntil
    fluffy.\tFold in cranberry mixture, pineapple and
    nuts.\tPour
    into
    1 quart mold and chill until firm.\tUnmold on lettuce.
    Top with mayo.
    Serves 6.
