Macaroni And Cheese - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. elbow macaroni
    3 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    2 c. milk
    1/4 c. finely chopped onion (optional)
    8 oz. sharp process American cheese, cubed
Preparation
    Cook the elbow macaroni in boiling water until tender; drain. In saucepan, melt the butter.
    Blend in the flour, salt and pepper. Add the milk; cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
    Add the onion (optional) and cheese.
    Stir until melted.
    Mix sauce with macaroni.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 in a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
    Makes 6 servings.
