Church Supper Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. frying chicken
    2 ribs celery
    1 medium size carrot
    salt and pepper as desired (use sparingly)
    1 c. raw rice
    1 pkg. dry onion soup mix (this has salt)
    2 c. water
Preparation
    Mince carrot and celery.
    Cut up chicken in serving size pieces.
    Saute vegetables in butter.
    Put rice in 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
    Add onion soup mix and sauteed vegetables with water.
    Brown chicken in butter; place on top of rice mixture. Cover with foil and bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
