Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. self rising flour
    1/2 c. cornmeal
    3/4 c. milk
    1 egg
    green tomatoes, unpeeled
    salt and pepper to taste
    bacon drippings
    extra flour
Preparation
    Mix flour, cornmeal, milk and egg to make a batter.
    Slice tomatoes 3/8 inch thick.
    In a large skillet heat bacon drippings (1/4 inch deep).
    Sprinkle tomato slices with salt and pepper. Coat tomato slices
    in self rising flour, dip in batter, dip again in flour and again in batter.
    Fry in bacon drippings until golden brown, turning once, remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.
