Ingredients

4 egg yolks
1 egg white
1/4 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. rum
1 c. flour
Preparation

Add salt to eggs and beat 10 minutes.
Add sugar and flavoring; beat until well blended.
Fold in flour.
Transfer to a well-floured board and knead until dough blisters.
Cut in halves. Roll very thin and cut into 4-inch strips (long).
Slit each piece in center and pull one end through the slit.
Fry in hot fat until lightly browned.
Drain on absorbent paper.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
