Elfriede Reisner'S Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
    1 1/2 to 2 Tbsp. chili powder
    2 (1 lb.) cans red kidney beans
    1/2 c. water
    1 large can whole tomatoes and juice (can use crushed tomatoes)
Preparation
    In a large pot, brown meat well.
    Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer, covered, for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Stir occasionally.
    Serve over rice.
    Makes about 8 servings.
