Nonalcoholic Holiday Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. water
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/8 tsp. nutmeg
    1/8 tsp. salt (optional)
    4 c. cranberry juice or sweet cider
    2 c. pineapple juice
Preparation
    In a 3 quart saucepan, combine sugar, water, spices and salt. Bring
    to
    boil.
    Add
    fruit juices.
    Serve hot.
    Makes about 2 quarts.
