Microwave Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large cucumber, sliced in 1/4-inch thick rounds (2 c.)
1 medium onion, sliced in thin rounds (3/4 c.)
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. distilled white vinegar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. mustard seed
1/4 c. celery seed
1/4 c. turmeric
Preparation

Mix all ingredients in a 2-quart microwave-safe dish. Microwave on High, stirring twice, for about 7 to 8 minutes or until cucumber is crisp and tender and onion is transparent. Ladle into glass jars rinsed in hot water to prevent cracking. Cover and cool slightly before refrigerating.
Makes 2 1/2 cups.
