Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. yellow corn meal
1 c. milk
1 egg, well beaten
1 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation

Mix and sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
Stir in corn meal.
Add milk to beaten egg and stir into first mixture. Add shortening and blend.
Turn into shallow greased 8-inch pan. Bake in hot 400\u00b0 oven for about 20 minutes.
