Five Week Sweet Pickle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    whole cucumbers
    2 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. alum
    2 Tbsp. pickling spice
Preparation
    Put cucumbers in gallon jar with remaining ingredients.
    Cover with vinegar.
    Let stand 5 weeks.
    Makes its own syrup.
    Let stand overnight.
    Pack in clean jars.
    Heat lids and seal.
