Holiday Date-Brandy Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. pitted dates, cut into pieces
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 1/4 c. water
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    2 Tbsp. brandy
Preparation
    Simmer
    first
    3 ingredients, about 10 minutes.
    Remove from heat;
    add
    pecans
    and
    brandy.
    Serve warm over vanilla ice cream.
    Keeps refrigerated several weeks and is good cold too.
    To reheat, use double boiler.
    It is very thick.
