Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. milk
    2 c. fresh peaches
    1 stick butter
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
    Mix with 1 cup sugar.
    Stir in milk to make batter.
    Melt butter in a large, deep Pyrex dish.
    Pour batter over melted butter; do not stir.
    Pour peaches and 1 cup sugar over batter mixture.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    In the process of baking, the batter rises and the peaches sink.
