Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 oz. margarine (1 c.)
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate bits
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Beat margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Blend in egg and vanilla.
    Add flour; mix well.
    Spread dough on a jelly roll pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes or lightly brown.
    Spread immediately with chocolate bits; let stand a few minutes.
    Spread chocolate evenly over top; sprinkle with pecans.
    Cool.
    Cut into bars, about 3 1/2 dozen.
    Cut with pizza cutter.
