Scalloped Cabbage Au Gratin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. shredded cabbage
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    3/4 c. grated cheese
    bread crumbs, potato chips or cracker crumbs
    1/4 c. water
    3 Tbsp. butter or oleo
    1 1/2 c. milk
    paprika
Preparation
    Cook cabbage in a 2 1/2-quart casserole.
    Drain.
    Add melted butter.
    Blend in flour, salt and pepper.
    Add milk and cook in oven until thickened (about 5 minutes).
    Stir every minute.
    In a 1 1/2-quart casserole, alternate layers of cabbage, white sauce and grated cheese.
    Top with bread crumbs and paprika and bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Turn dish 1/2 through baking time.
    Serves 8.
