Barbie'S Beach Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. finely crushed vanilla wafers, divided
    1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or oleo, melted
    1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
    1 tub (12 oz.) cool whip, divided
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 pkg. very berry barbie gelatin
    3/4 c. cold water
    ice cubes
Preparation
    Mix
    2 c. of wafer crumbs and butter in 13x9-inch baking dish.
    Press firmly in bottom and refrigerate.
    Beat cream cheese and sugar in bowl until smooth.
    Stir in 1/2 of cool whip.
    Spread over crust.
    Stir boiling water into gelatin in bowl for 2 minutes until dissolved.
    Mix cold water and ice to make 2 cups.
    Stir into gelatin.
    Refrigerate 5 minutes until gelatin is slightly thickened.
    Spoon over cream cheese layer.
    Refrigerate until firm.
    Add other 1/2 of cool whip and 1/2 c. crumbs.
