Ingredients

3 lb. fresh figs
3 c. sugar
1 c. water
1/3 c. light Karo syrup
1 whole lemon, thinly sliced
Preparation

First Day:
Wash figs and prick each with a fork.
Make syrup of sugar, water, Karo and lemon slices.
Bring to a boil in heavy pan and carefully lay figs in syrup.
Cover and bring to boil again.
Lower heat and boil gently for 30 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow to cool overnight, turning figs once or twice in syrup.
