Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. (2 1/2 sticks) margarine
    3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt (optional)
    1 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
    3 c. oats, uncooked
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. white raisins
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Beat margarine and sugars until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
    Add combined flour, baking soda, salt and spices; mix well.
    Stir in oats, nuts and raisins.
    Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 9 minutes for chewy cookies or 10 to 11 minutes for crisp cookies. Cool one minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
    Store tightly covered.
    (I always cook one pan without raisins first because Kathy doesn't like them, but Robert does.)
