Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. Grandma's molasses
1 egg
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. hot water
Preparation

Cream butter, egg and molasses.
Sift dry ingredients all together.
Add egg mixture, then hot water.
Beat until smooth. Batter is soft but makes fine cake.
Bake in greased shallow 9 x 9-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until done.
