Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    3 c. flour
    3/4 c. evaporated milk
    1/4 c. water
    1 c. butter
    5 large eggs
    2 tsp. butternut flavoring
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped black walnuts
Preparation
    Cream the sugar, salt, butter and Crisco. Add eggs and beat well. Add flour and milk alternately. Stir in walnuts.
    Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
    Start in cold oven. Set to 325\u00b0. Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes. Remove immediately to cool.
