Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. jam
    3 egg yolks
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. sour cream
    3 egg whites
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Beat in egg yolks and whites.
    Stir in jam.
    Re-sift flour with other dry ingredients.
    Add flour in about three parts alternately with sour cream.
    Beat batter after each addition until well blended.
    Bake cake in two greased 9-inch layer pans or 9-inch tube pan in moderate 350\u00b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Ice as desired.
