Cincinnati Chili - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 qt. water
2 lb. ground chuck
2 medium onions, chopped
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
4 Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. cumin seed or ground cumin
1/2 tsp. cayenne (red pepper)
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
2 Tbsp. brown vinegar
1 large bay leaf
1 1/2 tsp. cocoa or 1/2 sq. chocolate
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. salt
4 drops Tabasco sauce
Preparation
-
Put water, ground chuck and chopped onions in saucepan; do not brown meat.
Simmer for 30 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, for 3 hours.
Remove bay leaf.
For last hour, pot may be covered after desired consistency is reached.
