Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, torn in bite size pieces
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped onions
    1 c. chopped green peppers
    1 pkg. frozen peas, thawed enough to separate
    8 oz. real mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar, sprinkled on top
    1 c. Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours (can be fixed the night before).
    Just before serving, sprinkle bacon bits on top.
