Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. uncooked oatmeal (quick or old-fashioned)
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. soft margarine
2 large eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
chopped nuts
Preparation

Pour boiling water over oatmeal.
Let stand at room temperature 10 minutes.
Add brown and white sugars and margarine. Add eggs.
Mix well.
Sift together flour, soda, salt and cocoa. Add flour to sugar mixture.
Mix well.
Add 1/2 of chocolate chips.
Pour batter into greased and floured pan.
Sprinkle nuts and remaining chips on top of cake.
Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan at 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
